A pair of retro Arizona baseball teams will help Sharlot Hall Museum celebrate its 80th anniversary with a vintage 1928 exhibition game on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott.
The opponents, the Phoenix Senators and Bisbee Bees (pictured), are modeled after actual minor league teams that existed during the 20th Century - the Senators began playing in 1915 and the Bees in 1928. Both are non-profit, independent groups of vintage baseball players who sport vintage-style uniforms and equipment, including old-style bats, balls and gloves.
Following 19th century standards, the players' hats have no logos and their uniforms have no numbers or names, although the team names appear on the front of the players' jerseys.
Admission to the game is by donation. Proceeds will benefit Sharlot Hall Museum, which was founded in 1928 and is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
