Anniversary: Kate and Jerry Donaldson
Kate and Jerry Donaldson
Kate and Jerry Donaldson

On May 16, Kate and Jerry Donaldson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They met in Hannibal, Mo. where Katie was a carhop at the Checkered Flag drive-in serving up hamburgers as Jerry ordered dinner in his hot rod. It was some time later that Kate may have accidentally misconnected Jerry's telephone calls as they got to know each other a bit better through the local telephone company switchboard. They were eventually married in Hannibal in 1952 where Kate continued to work for the phone company and Jerry was a mechanic. In 1967, Jerry and Kate moved their home and their daughters Neysa and Leisa to Prescott where Kate transferred to Mountain Bell and Jerry worked for Prescott College, Yavapai College and later Mountain Bell as well. Retirement didn't slow them down. Many years they served as camp hosts for the forest service and other RV parks in the Dolores, Colo. area. Kate is still very busy volunteering at Chino Valley Southern Baptist Church and Jerry's creativity is in full swing building birdhouses and refinishing antique furniture in his wood shop.

Congratulations to Both of you!!! Katie, It was a pleasure working with you at Mt. Bell all those years ago. You were a very kind manager to work for. Good for both of you for remaining so active.
Mike and I send our best wishes for many more happy and healthy years to come.
Sincerely, Kathleen (Jaramillo) Christian
