Chino Valley council to ratify awarding of well drilling contract
The Daily Courier

The Chino Valley Town Council Thursday will consider ratifying the awarding of a contract to drill a municipal well to Drill Tech of Chino Valley. The contract stipulates the work is not to exceed $200,000.

Ron Grittman, town engineer and public works director, had hoped Drill Tech could start drilling the well on the Bright Star 1-million-gallon tank site this past Friday. However, the town is still waiting for final approval by the state.

"I hope we can get permission to start drilling by Thursday or Friday at the latest," he said Monday.

Other items on the agenda include:

• A public hearing on the council's rankings of the three Community Development Block Grant projects. They are: flooding and drainage improvements for the SE Santa Cruz neighborhood ($379,294); wise-aging workshops for the Chino Valley Senior Center ($16,500); and new location for the Chino Valley Food Bank ($175,000).

The council also will consider authorizing submission of the application and to adopt the residential anti-displacement and relocation assistance plan.

• Issuing a conditional use permit to allow a bed and breakfast in an existing residence at 693 W. Center St.

• Approval of the financial report for the seven months ending Jan. 31.

• Approval of a $60,721.97 change order with T&T Construction for additional work for the new town hall Center Street sewer project.

• Ratifying the purchase of a used 2002 Broom Bear pick-up-style street sweeper for $37,940.

• Authorizing the Chino Valley Police Department to apply for, accept and expend money from a $99,284.15 2011 Speed and Aggressive Driving and Alcohol Enforcement grant.
